Problem

The commands "Fence Freeze" and "Fence Thaw" allow to manipulate a dimension as if it was "dropped", and yet retain its info if it is needed to "restore" it at a later time. This allows to break dimension or extension lines or do any modification to the dimension.

If  the"Drop Dimension" tool is used, the dimension is dropped for good. The commands "Fence Freeze" and "Fence Thaw" allow restoration of the original dimension, regardless of the physical manipulations on the dimension entities.

Solution

The command "Fence Freeze" is used to temporarily “freeze” all dimensions (but also multi-lines, tags, and shared cell elements contained in a fence). This will drop the dimension and allow you to edit the dimension as desired:

and if you need to restore it to its original state, you can use "Fence Thaw"
