Problem
MicroStation crashes on start up
Solution
Ideally collect the following, log a Service Request and work with the Support team in troubleshooting the issue.
• Crash logs - check video
• Event logs - check video
The following workaround of “Restore Defaults” has fixed the crashes for some Users.
Note: Your current User Preference settings, will be lost when you perform a “Restore Defaults”
Restore default settings by adding “ –restoredefaults” to MicroStation shortcut and start it.
• Look for MicroStation shortcut on your desktop. If you don’t find it, create one
• Right click on properties
• In the Target after microstation.exe add this string " –restoredefaults"
e.g. "C:\Program Files\Bentley\MicroStation CONNECT Edition\MicroStation\microstation.exe" –restoredefaults
• Double click on MicroStation shortcut to perform the restore
• Remove " –restoredefaults" once the default settings are restored.
