How to enable the scroll bars inside each view window

Back in the early days of the MicroStation V8 versions the scroll bars on the edges of the view windows were turned on by default. With the introduction of MicroStation V8 XM Edition this capability was turned off. The below option shows how this can be turned back on.

Steps to Accomplish

There is an option under the Preferences in MicroStation that allows you to turn on the scroll bars within the view windows.

• Open any design file in MicroStation
• From the File option in the menus select Settings
• Under the User Settings area select the Preferences option
• Go to the View Options category
• At the top you will see the option "Scroll Bars"
• Tick the box next to this and click OK
• Using the back arrow to go back to your design file you should now see the Scroll Bars at the right and bottom edges of each view window
