Problem

Raster image is not displaying when dgn file is referenced into another .dgn file in MicroStation XM 08.09.02.52. When a .dgn file with a Raster image attached is referenced into another .dgn file, the Raster image does
not display in View 1. It may display in View 2. In the dgn file where the dgn file has been referenced into it, if you look at Raster Manager the view will show gray for View 1 and the other views will be blue. If you look at the original .dgn file, which has the raster image attached, View 1 will be turned on.

The cause of this behavior might be that in MicroStation XM Raster images are attached on their own level and the level that the Raster image had been attached with, was turned off in View 1.

Solution

Try the following:

1. Open the .dgn file where the .dgn file with raster image attached
has been reference into it.
2. Click on the M symbol beside View 1 in the blue bar across the top
of the View 1 window
3. Chose Level Display
4. Click on the .dgn file that has the Raster image attached in the drop
down list
5. In the area that shows Name and Used right click and chose All On
6. File > Save Settings
