How to Create a Text Style

Problem

How to create text styles in MicroStation v8 and where to locate these tools.

Solution

To open the Text Styles tool you should go into the menu:

> Element > Text Style

You should then see the Text Style dialog box.

Select the "New" icon, which looks like a blank piece of paper, or select "New" from within the Style menu pull-down.

Highlight the "untitled" text and enter a new text style name.

Set up the desired settings for the text style which could include various items under the General tab like:

  • Font
  • Height
  • Width
  • Justification
  • etc.

After these have been finalised click on the "Save" icon or select "Save" from the Style menu choose "Save".
