Problem Description

User cannot edit images as the edit handles are not visible.

Steps to Resolve

Option 1

Check the Disable Handles option in the Tool Settings dialog, when Element Selection tool is active. When the Disable Handles is highlighted it means that the option is ON and the handles are not visible:

Click the Disable Handles button and when it is not highlighted anymore, the option is off and the handles are visible:

Option 2

Try deleting your temporary files first, and then, if the problem persists, recreate a new user preference file.

 To delete your temp files

 1. Type the following key-in in Microstation: $ % explorer $(MS_TMP)
This will open windows explorer showing the content of your  temp folder.

 2. Close Microstation but keep the windows explorer window open.

 3. Delete all files in the temp folder

 4. Restart Microstation and check if the issue still occurs.

To re-create a new clean user preferences file:

  1. Type in the following key-in: $ % explorer $(_USTN_HOMEPREFS)

This will open windows explore showing the content of your user preferences folder

   2. Close Microstation but keep the windows explorer window open.

   3. In the explorer windows look for a file with the .upf extension and rename it to a different extension (i.e. userpref.upf -> userpref.bak)

   4. Restart Microstation and check if the issue still occurs.
