Problem
How to make linestyles to use annotation scale in a model.
MicroStation XM edition has a Model Property setting, Line Style Scale
- Use Annotation Scale. However, there is no Annotation lock toggle such
as that available in the Place text dialog when placing lines.
With this in mind, is it possible for some linestyles in a model to use
the Annotation scale and others to remain independent of it?
Such a scenario would be particularly useful for instance in
architecture where a brick linestyle is used it should always remain the
same size but a boundary linestyle should scale with the annotation.
Product: MicroStation V8 XM Edition
Version: 08.09.02.52
Area: Line Styles
Solution
Linestyle scale can be made totally independent or removed from the
Annotation Scale by use of a new setting available in MicroStation XM
Custom linestyles. From the LineStyle Editor (Element>Linestyles>Edit)
select Edit>Physical. When this is ticked on the An notation Scale will
have no effect on that linestyle.
From the Help Menu;
Edit > Physical
If on, prevents the Global Line Style Scale and the Annotation Scale
factors from being applied.
This setting is recommended for cases in which a line style represents a
fixed-size, real-world object, such as a railroad track or painted road
markers. Turning this setting off is recommended for a cosmetic line
style such as a centerline or a hidden line.
