I have been summoned to a meeting tomorrow at our clients office, with a cast of thousands (slight exaggeration!) to show how Microstation Connect's Display Rules capability can benefit the various partners of the structural integrity team in visualizing the status of jacket structure member stress, fatigue life, corrosion status and several other conditions. No problem with the meeting but the big problem is that Bentley View 4 does not support Display Rules, although Bentley Connect View did, Why was this withdrawn and replaced with BV4 which was supposedly updated to capture Connects features?
How do I get round the problem of moving my licence of Microstation Connect to the clients office without incurring a financial penalty. I would normally have used Microstation Connect View on a workstation laptop but do not have the Connect Viewer any more due to machine upgrade, and the other problem is how do I convince twenty or so engineers, not draughtsmen, to pay for a viewer if this is Bentley's intention.
I am beginning to understand the reluctance of subscribers updating to Connect, as in my case it is looking like I have wasted hundreds of man hours in setup and data input in the afore mentioned project.
