[V8i SS3,4] Select by Attributes for shared cells crashing MS almost every second attempt

I have files where I can not use "SELECT BY ATTRIBUTES" on shared cells more than two times. My file is based on a converted DWG file containing > 99000 different elements. Most are lines, line strings, shared cells, texts. Some elements  where created with Inroads Survey (SS2).

Almost every time a second or third call of "SELECT BY ATTRIBUTES" with different settings is  crashing MS, to the message:

"Microstation is not responding any more" for a few seconds then Microstation task  is gone.
No "Bentley Debug" or "Send error logging" screen.
Some hints and known issues?
