I volunteer and coach a middle/high school robotics team. I've used Microstation at work for years. So it's a logical choice for me to have the kids use it. Saves me from learning something else. We found that Bentley has a free version of Microstation called "Power Drafting". It does everything the kids would ever need, or me for that matter. From my perspective they are equal, with only a few differences in tool names.
My problem is after I install it I want to be able to set the user preferences on the kids PC's so they all have the same layout as I use. The problem there is I have no control over their hardware or OS. Some have Windows 7, some have Windows 10. I think the file paths are different.
I've figured out the the UPF is buried and has that random folder name. So I haven't figured out a way to automate the copying of the UPF. And I'm not sure where it "lives" on Windows 10 as I use W7Pro.
Can anyone give me any suggestions on the easiest way, the instructions that is, on starting Microstation (Power Drafting), looking up the correct UPF folder, and copying a supplied UPF to that location?
Thanks,
Scott
