Problem
User has a DGN file with 1 design-model and 3 sheets-models
When this DGN is saved to DWG format, the export goes well accept that the sheet's paper formats do not cover the model. They are displayed far apart
Solution
The problem is caused because the View(s) in the DGN have been rotated to create a horizontal border.
And the ability to rotate rotate a View is a MicroStation DGN functionality which is not supported when working in DWG mode.
In order to prevent a situation like this it is best to keep the borders horizontal and rotate the reference file.
In case the above scenario has happened, the following steps can been taken to correct this:
- Select the Sheet model I the DGN file
- Un-rotate View by clicking on the Rotate View icon, and select method Unrotated
- In the Model Properties, copy the value in 'Rotation' to the clipboard, and reset to '0' (zero)
- In the Reference Manager; select "Treat Attachment as Element for Manipulation"
- Select ALL elements, use window overlap (lower right > upper left)
- Rotate Element - set Active Angle by pasting the value from the clipboard in the field, and make it a negative value
- Rotations pivot point should be the lower left corner
Do these steps for all Sheet models that need to be corrected
