 Product:MicroStation
 Version:08.11.09.459
 Environment:N\A
 Area:Drawing Aids
 Subarea:AccuDraw

Background

When working with the mouse on the right hand side of the keyboard it would be handier for the users to have Smart Lock (which is defined as Enter by default) defined with a key on the left side of the keyboard e.g. Shift in order to use the left hand.

Problem Description

AccuDraw Shortcut for Smart Lock cannot be defined as Shift because it is a key to be used in connection with other key. Currently the key combination Shift+? is used to display List of AccuDraw Shortcuts.

Workaround

Shift key is not available as an AccuDraw shortcut but key immediately beside it – i.e. the backslash key ‘\’ for US keyboards – can be assigned to Smart Lock.

  1. Open the "Settings > AccuDraw Settings > Display > Shortcut Key-ins > Smart Lock" menu or
  2. Press F11 so AccuDraw window has focus and enter Shift+? to display the list of AccuDraw Shortcuts
  3. Highlight Smart Lock and press Edit
  4. Change Shortcut definition to e.g. \ as shown on the printscreen below and press OK
