I like the clean and simple new look of Bentley View compared to the old V8i Navigator. Much easier for non-MicroStation users.
Is there any way have it show the extended structural properties for elements inside the the models. Same for OpenPlant models.
We want our engineers to review models but if they can't click on a beam for example and see it size, or on a pump and see it's relevant specs it will be of no use just seeing dumb graphics.
On top of that we would need to be able to add customizations built in C# so we can interface with SQL databases in custom GUIs.
We currently use Navisworks to achieve this. It is not easy to get the data exported into an NWD but it does work and gives us great flexibility to integrate with engineering management systems. Developing plugins to Navisworks is easy and very powerful.
Would be much nicer if it was all in the Bentley product line.
Is this or will it ever be possible?
