Problem
Cannot tentative snap to any element.
Possible Reasons
- Snap Lock is not enabled
- Button Assignment is not set correctly for Tentative.
- Button set for Tentative in MicroStation is not set as a button in Mouse Properties.
(V8i) To Enable Snap lock:
- Go to Settings > Locks > Full
- Enable "Snap Lock"
Note: Save settings/ or press Ctrl+F, is needed to retain setting.
To Set the Button assignment correctly :
- V8i : Go to Workspace > Button Assignments
- CONNECT Edition : Go to File > Settings > User > Button Assignments
- Click "Remap Buttons"
- Highlight Tentative
- Place cursor in "Button Definition area"
- Click desired button(s) to assign to tentative.

To Set mouse properties so that tentative button is set as a "Button"
(these steps may vary depending on Operating System and/or Mouse hardware /driver)
- From Taskbar, Go to Start > Control Panel
- Open "Mouse" settings
- Go to section showing what the mouse buttons are set to.
- Change the corresponding button assigned for tentative snap in MicroStation to "button".
