when exporting/saveing as for archive purposes, the flattened drawings do not retain the settings from the original.
mainly, level overrides are lost but also element/dimension associations, field values and regularly the clip boundaries are ignored.
There are not enough options on the save as V8i dialog to control behavior of exports.
