Problem:

I have installed MicroStation J and have an Activation Key. How do get MicroStation /J license activated?

Solution:

There are two parts to Activate the license for MicroStation /J.

1) Install SELECT Gateway in the computer where you want to install the gateway.

2) Point the gateway to the SELECTserver site and your activation key, by editing msj.lic

Part 1 is to install the Gateway,

To download (from the Website):

Select either ONE (1) depending on your PC:

• SELECTserver Gateway(English) 64-bit  09.01.00.31 | 10 MB, or
• SELECTserver Gateway(English) 32-bit  09.01.00.31 | 9 MB

Once signed in, Follow:

SUPPORT > (https://www.bentley.com/en/support)

GO TO CONNECTION CENTER > (https://connect.bentley.com/)

• {bottom of page} > Software Downloads > Software Fulfillment
• Search by:  SELECTserver Gateway
• >>Language =[English]
• Find {on the right side of the results} =  {open > All Downloads}
• Find > SELECTserver Gateway(English) 32-bit  09.01.00.31 | 9 MB , or  SELECTserver Gateway(English) 64-bit  09.01.00.31 | 10 MB
• Click the Green Arrow on the right
• Begin Download and follow Prompts.

Part 2 is to place a MSJ.LIC file in the licensing folder.

Create a txt file (Notepad) and save the file as  msj.lic;  and fill in the computername (computer where MicroStation J and Gateway is installed)

It will read :

       SERVER=xxxxxxxxx

xxxxxxxxx > fill in  yourcomputername

Then save this file and place it to C:\Bentley\Program\Licensing
